Mini clinics! Weekly Hot Topics!

 

 Let’s Get together and talk about some really cool stuff while enjoying time with like minded people!

 

Join me for 3 dates: Pick one or pick all! You get to choose! 

 

What are we doing?

      Each Friday we will meet to discuss a specific topic.   These events will be human only. I will present on the topic and have short training sessions for the humans to keep things fun! 

I will provide detailed explanations of the topic, reasons behind It, how to train it and more while encouraging participants to ask questions! This is an interactive meet each week 

 

The cost will be low $25 per meet and everyone is invited to bring a snack to share if they would like. 

 

Pre registration is required by Wednesday of each week prior to the meet

  HERE ARE THE TOPICS 

 

3/21 @4pm: “Reinforcementent strategies and reward markers” 

what are they, why do we need them, how do we train them 

 

3/28@4pm: “Training to Trialing: Remote reinforcement” 

teaching the dog how and when they will get their reward in trials.  A key to transitioning from training to trialing to help your dog be successful with no food or toys on you 

 

4/4: “ The Missing links to your foundations” 

This isnt about skills , this is about basic dog training tools you need in place to train your pup! Understanding of impulse control, when to come up in energy and when to relax. A clear communication system to allow you to train your dog easily with toys and food with out fighting

Class Schedule

​Monday

9-10am Skill Builders - Masters Level   FULL

This class focus is on skills at the Master level that will build up to a full course. In order to execute a 14-20 obstacle course, the skills need to be in tact. We will take each course and split it and re build to a full course for dogs who can successfully work the pieces.  This includes lead outs, understanding obstacle independence, and any skill you may see on course!

Dates:  3/24, 3/31, 4/7, 4/14

Cost $120

 

10:15-1115am Skill builders Advanced level  FULL

This class focus is on skills that will build up to a full course. In order to execute a 14-20 obstacle course, the skills need to be in tact. We will take each course and split it and re build to a full course for dogs who can successfully work the pieces.  This includes lead outs, understanding obstacle independence, and any skill you may see on course!

This class is appropriate for:  dogs sequencing up to 7-15 obstacles or more!

Dates:  3/24, 3/31, 4/7, 4/14

Cost $120

 

1130-1230pm Agility Competition Prep  FULL

Time to ramp things up for novice  dogs.  Trial like atmosphere will be used to help the dogs begin to focus in more distracting environments.  We will also work on handlers having the best laid plans for their dogs

6-7:15pm Putting it together tweeners  FULL

Focus will be on bridging the gap between foundation handling , and equipment familiarization Focusing on contacts and weaves.Dogs must be at least 10 months of age.

7:30-8:30pm Masters series  FULL

Teams will be challenged to get it right the first time! Master and Premier level course challenges.  Be ready to step to the line ready to win it!

Tuesday 

9-10am  Pre Novice skill builders  FULL

Dogs must be at least 14month old. Class will focus on key handling skills including jump commitment and understanding of handling cues

Dates:  3/18, 3/25, 4/1,4/8

10:15-11:15am  Agility Fix it! FULL

This class is designed for each team to come and focus on a specific skill they need.  Timing , lead out positions , blinds, rears Start lines, focus, contacts jump commitment and more.  Students must submit their request on skill to focus on each week the Monday Prior to class to allow instructor

Wednesday 

9-10am Skill Builders - Masters Level FULL

10:15-11:15am Skills - The road map to success  FULL

This class is designed to take each team and give them the proper road map to success. To address connection and timing.  What handling tools work for your team.  How to execute with confidence. Skills will be advanced to master level. Sequences will be short. Up to 10 obstacles. 

Dates:  3/19, 3/26, 4/2, 4/9

11:30-12:30pm Blind cross/rear Cross  1 spot left!

This class will give you the opportunity to focus on skills required to navigate a course. We will alternate between focusing on Blind or Rear crosses. Working on the component you and your dog need along with practicing execution.

630pm-7:30pm  Obstacle commitment  2 spots left!

Jumps and tunnels only! 

This class is for any  dog that has started sequencing or dogs that are lacking commitment on obstacles.  We will break down each set up for those who are just building teamwork. Working to build independence on jumps and tunnels.  Basic obstacle commitment will allow you to cue and leave, trust your dog to take what you have cued, and build distance on lines.  Dogs must be atleast 11 months old.

745pm- 9pm Master class: Handling fine tuning: 1 spot left!

Must have full understanding of all equipment) 

Running courses requires us to connect with our dogs and cue all the things! Knowing these pieces allows you to run the course , cue all the things and get that Q you entered the show to get!!

Thursday 

4-5pm Weaves Continues! FULL

The class is suitable for all dogs working at any level of their weave training.  Dogs that have completed part 1 

We will add them into sequences and trial like atmosphere for dogs that are ready.

515-615pm  Skill builders  Novice  FULL

This class focus is on skills that will build up to a full course for Novice level teams. Contact and weaves will be incorporated. For dogs who have not completed these , you will have the option to run the course with out them or take your turn to focus on that piece of equipment. 

This class is appropriate for:  dogs sequencing up to 7-15 obstacles. 

Dates: 3/20, 3/27, 4/3, 4/10

630-730pm  Handling Fine Tuning Novice /Advanced 1 spot left!

Dogs must be ready to compete or competing at novice or Advanced Level.  Focus will be on Fine tuning your skills to have fast, clean well planned runs.   We will address needs of the dogs for competition including focus needs.

745pm-9pm Rally Drop in! 

This class will provide full courses at the intermediate to master level.  We can tailor to the team. Learn new signs, run full courses, experience new dogs and distractions to prepare for trialing.  

Dates: 3/20, 3/27, 4/3, 4/10

 

Cost: $30 per drop in/ $115 for 4 weeks. Must give 48 hours notice to drop in. Space is limited 

 

Friday

9-10am Rally Advanced to Master  FULL

This class will be nested class for Rally advanced to Master level students. 

Dates: 3/21, 3/28, 4/4, 4/11

Cost $120

 

10:15-11:15am Fitness Foundations  3 spots left!

This class is to teach the importance of why we do fitness with our dogs. How to evaluate where your dog needs more strength to support your goals whether it be dog sports or at home life. How to teach proper sitting and other positions not only to look correct but to use positioning to add muscle. How to teach hind end awareness, including backing up and side stepping. How to build core strength ( needed for much more then we imagined in sport) and how to keep your dog a minimal risk and proper physical condition, especially in climates where the weather prevents us from getting out.

Appropriate for sound dogs from puppies to seniors. Those taking the first foundation class can repeat as we will continue to build on our knowledge!

Sunday 

11-12pm intro to Rally Mini class  2 spots left!

This class will focus on understanding rally signs in addition to foundations for heeling and skills needed in the sport. 

Dogs must be a year old and able to work in a group setting with dogs on leash.
